Decoration time: 25 min.
Difficulty: Moderate
What you'll need:
- 1 bag M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for the Holidays
- 1 bag TWIX® Brand Miniatures
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 18-oz. rolls refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- 1 16-oz. can vanilla frosting
- Red and green food coloring
- Cookie sheet
- 1-1/2-inch round cookie cutter
- 2 resealable plastic bags
- Click here for printable pattern
What to do:
- Knead the flour into the cookie dough until smooth.
- Roll the dough out on the parchment paper to 1/4-inch thickness. Using the printable pattern as a guide, cut out a large tree shape (approximately 12 x 8 inches).
- Transfer the parchment paper (with the tree) onto a cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and randomly press out 8 circles using the cookie cutter. When pressing out the circles, cut completely through the dough to the cookie sheet (but don’t remove them from the "cookie tree"). Return the cookie sheet to the oven and continue baking until golden brown, about 5 minutes more. Transfer the cookie sheet to a wire rack to cool.
- Tint 1/4 cup of the vanilla frosting red, and the remaining frosting green. Transfer each frosting to a resealable plastic bag.
- Frost the circles red, and decorate with red M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for the Holidays. Frost the remaining tree area green, and decorate with green M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for the Holidays.
- For the tree trunk: Use frosting to glue 4 unwrapped TWIX® Brand Miniatures at the bottom.
