Mitten Tree Ornament
Have a child give you a hand when you make them!
Difficulty: Moderate
What you'll need:
- 1 package STARBURST® Brand Candy Canes
- An assortment of bite-sized candies such as SNICKERS®, MILKY WAY®, or TWIX® Brand Miniatures;
or DOVE® Brand Milk or Dark Chocolate - Glue or double-sided tape
- Scissors
- 2 12-inch squares of felt
- Ribbon
- Cotton balls and pom poms, optional
What to do:
- Trace your child's hand onto the felt in the shape of a mitten or glove. Place 2 pieces of felt on top of each other, and cut along your tracing.
- Attach the two cutouts using glue or tape along the outside edges. Press the two pieces together, sealing them together. Leave the wrist area open so you can stuff candy into the mitten. If you use glue, let it dry.
- Decorate the outside of the mitten by taping on various Mars candies, cotton pom poms, ribbon or holiday felt shapes.
- Decorate the mitten's cuff with holiday ribbon, pom poms and cotton balls. Tie a loop using ribbon so that it's big enough to hang on a door, wall or tree.
- Fill the mitten with STARBURST® Candy Canes and various M&M'S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies. Enjoy!
