Fragrant Ornaments
These gingerbread characters make a great—and sweet smelling—gift or decoration!
Prep time: 30 min.
Difficulty: Easy
What you'll need:
- 1 bag M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for the Holidays
- 2 cups smooth applesauce
- 3 bottles (4.3-oz. each) ground cinnamon
- Decorative white icing
- Thin ribbon
- Gingerbread man/girl cookie cutter
What to do:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the applesauce and cinnamon. Slowly blend until all of the cinnamon becomes moist.
- Turn the mixture onto a work surface and knead until it becomes very smooth.
- Roll the dough until 1/4-inch thick.
- Press out gingerbread men and place them on a fine mesh rack or a lined cookie sheet. Cut a small hole for the ribbon in the top.
- Air-dry overnight.
- Tie a loop with the ribbon through the hole. Decorate the ornament with M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies for the Holidays attached with decorative frosting.
